Communications Associate, Headquarters

Job Summary

Push The Rock, a global sports ministry based in Emmaus, PA, seeks a talented, enthusiastic part-time communications professional to create thoughtful and engaging digital marketing and communications content.  The Communications Associate is responsible for emotionally connecting audiences to our mission through effective information sharing and storytelling on a variety of digital and print platforms.  Working in collaboration with senior leadership, the Communications Associate will lead development of the communications plan for the organization and create and manage content across Push The Rock divisions globally.  This position reports to the chief operating officer and can be done remotely.

Key Responsibilities (but are not limited to):

  • Serves as primary content creator for Push The Rock’s digital and print communications (emails, newsletters and donor appeals), social media platforms, website and annual report
  • Identifies and develops compelling stories of impact for multiple forms of media
  • Leads development and implementation of communications strategies in support of PTR’s mission, values, goals and objectives
  • Creates marketing material to use in promotion
  • Develops and maintains a communications calendar and optimizes communications flow, content, and message integration across all communication platforms
  • Gathers metrics, analyzes effectiveness, and adjusts outreach as needed

Professional Qualifications (minimum)

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as great attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency in content development and social media posting/campaigns 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent people skills, professional judgment, and communications skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, supportive manner

Professional Qualifications (preferred)

  • Graphic design experience for digital initiatives using Canva, Photoshop or other graphic design tools
  • Familiarity with digital communication and social media analytics to measure effectiveness and inform future content
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations or proven experience in communications or marketing in lieu of a degree

  • A Christian who is committed to PTR’s  Vision, Mission and Core Values, and agrees with PTR’s Statement of Faith.

  • Collaborative team player

Work Schedule

This paid part-time position requires approximately 15 to 25 hours per week. The position provides flexible work hours and can be done remotely.

Compensation

Pay will be on a part-time hourly rate based on experience level.
