What is Africa is really like? What would DISC GOLF in Africa be like? Join us and find out …

Short-term teams have been a tremendous blessing to the ministry of PTR Zambia over the past few summers. The disc golf team will be traveling to Macha to work with the Push The Rock Zambia team there. Located in southern Africa and one of the safest African countries to visit, Zambia also boasts one of the seven natural wonders of the world, Victoria Falls, as well as amazing wildlife to be seen roaming wild as God intended!

Our team will be traveling to a rural part of southern Zambia, where the church, along with the help of years of missionary work, has developed a unique community … Macha. This community is based around a hospital, a malaria research institute, the church and several schools. Though Zambia is stable politically and the economy is on the rise, HIV/AIDS has greatly impacted the country. The Macha area is no exception. But the love of Jesus, along with a smile and disc golf, can do amazing things!

Disc golf has truly taken off since being introduced. Macha now has an 18 hole course that is utilized regularly, and it has a staff member dedicated to teaching disc golf and taking care of the course.  In 2019 we ran the first Zambia Open PDGA C Tier which was very well received by the community, as well as by the larger disc golf community. Our primary purposes for returning are to provide additional training and teaching to the staff, regular participants in Macha, and the surrounding community.  In addition, the team will assist the staff in running a glow tournament, kids tournament, and the second Zambia Open. We believe that disc golf will continue to provide great opportunities for ministry in Macha and we look forward to encouraging the team there with this trip.

These various means of ministry will allow you to use your God-given talents and abilities as a means to share with others how YOUR personal relationship with Jesus Christ has changed and continues to positively impact your life. It is our prayer that in our time there relationships will be built among the Zambian people and the local church that will build bridges into the future and change lives for eternity.

This trip could be once-in-a-lifetime for you.  Come be a part of God’s work in Zambia, including what God is doing through our full time office there! The Lord has blessed us with a community center, where lots of ministry happens on a daily basis. A lot of it is sports driven, but we also help kids with homework, host game nights, show movies, hold Bible studies, and teach English, to name a few. Check out the Push The Rock Zambia website and read all about it for yourself.

We strongly believe that this trip will not only strengthen and encourage our Zambian brothers and sisters, but that it will also deepen your own relationship with Christ. Come share in the hospitality of the Zambian people, see the smiling faces and hear their beautiful voices. Come and experience God’s wonder at Victoria Falls and see His amazing creation while on a safari.  It will open your eyes to a whole new world … Africa!  It will change your life as you look to impact the lives of others for eternity.

Please prayerfully consider joining this team!  If you have additional questions please contact the office. Otherwise, your next step is to fill out the application below. If you have additional questions, please email Chico Schlonecker at chico@pushtherock.org.

If you are flying in you will need to make arrangements to be flying in on January 31 at the latest. (Specific details around training will be provided once you are officially a part of the team).
