It is so exciting to see the youth disc golf scene taking off, and we are grateful for the opportunities we have to meet a need in the disc golf community while sharing the love of Christ. One of our very first programs, before the ministry was even official, was a youth league we ran at Sellersville. We relied on word of mouth to advertise and were really excited to have 11 kids join the league. In May we kicked off our fourth year of the league and were thrilled to have reached our cap. Actually we exceeded our cap by a few with 30 kids participating!
Youth league provides a tremendous opportunity to build into young disc golfers on a regular basis. We look forward to offering more leagues in Pennsylvania, and adding leagues in Michigan, Washington, and Florida in the near future. If you missed out on league this year, don’t worry there are plenty of opportunities to participate in programs this summer.
Registration is under way for our junior tournaments, and we encourage you to register today. You can find more information about our events here:
With a growing demand for our programs and more opportunities to reach out to the disc golf community, there are often changes to the staff at Eagles Wings. We are always looking for quality people who are willing to serve alongside our team and in new parts of the country. We are blessed to announce a couple of new things.
After a long support raising process, Chris Rodriguez has officially joined the staff of Eagles Wings on a part time basis. He will also be serving at a local church in Washington state to supplement his work with Eagles Wings. We are blessed to include Chris on the team and look forward to his gifts edifying our Eagles Wings body. Chris will begin by focusing on the local ministry of Eagles Wings in Washington. We look forward to announcing events in Washington soon.
Leah Cole has been asked to join the team as a ministry associate in Michigan. She will be helping Jim with the local ministry. Leah and her husband have already been helping Jim with the local ministry in Michigan and will now be giving more time to Eagles Wings. She will begin raising support with the hopes of beginning work soon.

The beginning of the 2018 disc golf season is upon us. The top pros have already competed in one PDGA National Tour event and two Pro tour events. At Eagles Wings Disc Golf we are excited to finally have the details in place for our series of Junior Disc Golf Tournaments. Are you ready to join us for some of the best junior only tournaments in 2018?
We will once again be hosting two regional junior disc golf tournaments in the Mid-Atlantic region as well as the Midwest Region. We will also be hosting our Summer Break Bash at Kenilworth for the third year running. This will be the first year that the Summer Break Bash will be a sanctioned tournament. Registration is live now. Be sure to check out all the details and register by clicking on the event flyers below.
Also, be sure to look for us at the first ever PDGA Junior Disc Golf World Championships as well as the inaugural PDGA Junior National Championships.
One of the many blessings for all of us at Eagles Wings Disc Golf is working with a group of people from across the country with several years of ministry experience. Jim Shultz has been in ministry for over 30 years and is the person responsible for the name Eagles Wings Disc Golf! He has been with us since the start of the ministry under Push The Rock and we have all been blessed by Jim’s years of experience and youthful energy. For the next 10 weeks, we are glad to be able to offer Jim time for a sabbatical.
If you are unfamiliar with the term, a sabbatical is a time of rest and renewal that is often provided for people in ministry every seven to ten years. Jim will take this time to prepare for the next season of ministry while growing in his relationship with God and his family. We look forward to having Jim rejoin us in the same capacity that he has been serving on Januaray 15th.
While Jim is taking this time away from the ministry things continue to move forward and if you need to contact anyone about our ministry in Michigan, please reach out to our National Director, Dustin Leatherman. Dustin can be reached at email@example.com. Please be praying for Jim and his family during this time of sabbatical.
Eagles Wings is blessed to be able to work with Judson College in the construction of a new disc golf course. Jim Schultz and the local team in the Michigan area are working hard to provide a fun opportunity for students at Judson to learn and play the sport of disc golf. The course will playfully wind through the campus at Judson and provide a challenge to all players.
The designs have been completed and we have begun to work on the property to prepare it for the course. A small team from Eagles Wings disc golf has worked hard to clear some of the underbrush and miscellaneous branches. We spent time putting down some paving stones to mark tee boxes and began to dig holes for the post when the baskets arrive.
There is still plenty of work to do on this course but for now things are looking good. We are excited to see this course take shape and look forward to hosting events on this course in the future.
What a weekend it was for Eagles Wings Disc Golf. This past Saturday we had 95 junior disc golfers competing in Eagles Wings events held in Michigan and Pennsylvania. Junior only disc golf events are few and far between and it is such an enjoyable experience to see kids come together and get to compete with their peers in events that are all about them! Below you will find a recap of both events along with some pictures. For more pictures and videos check out our Facebook page!
Eagles Wings Midwest Junior Regional
69 juniors ages 5-18 traveled to Earl Brewer Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan for our 2nd Annual Midwest Junior Regional last Saturday. Despite the weather forecast of a 50-70% chance of thunderstorms and lightning, we were blessed with a rain-free day that allowed us to get not only the round, but all the extra games in as well! Many local disc golfers and parents gave up their day to serve the kids, and it was awesome to see it all come together.
All ages played an 18 hole round with different layouts for the different divisions. We had a wide range of ability and experience levels on the course, but it seemed that fun was had by all. There were some great shots throughout the day, highlighted by an ace hit by one of our 5 year old players! In addition to the round we had a mini course, pyramid toss, speed putting, ring of fire, and clinics for the players. On top of all that, thanks to Upper Park Designs and Zuca we were able to give away a bag and cart in the raffle!
We had many sponsors who contributed to this day to make it extra special for the kids, and for that we are grateful! A special thank you to Jacob Stahl of Disc Baron who directed the event and was our title sponsor. We also want to thank our other primary sponsors who helped make the day great for the kids including Innova, Dynamic Discs, Paragon Disc Golf, and Upper Park Designs, and Zuca. We’re already looking forward to next year!
Kenilworth Summer Break Bash
This was our second year running this event at Kenilworth and we are excited to say that it was a success. This event is a smaller, non-sanctioned event we run to give players the chance to play in an event before the big regional event at Sellersville. We had 26 kids come out to compete despite the forecast of rain. We got hit with some rain during the clinic, but the rain cleared and the round was completely dry!
Again this event could not have happened with volunteers and sponsors and we are thankful for all who contributed to the day. This event would not have been what it was without Shawn Overturf of D-Town Disc Golf. D-Town contributed an additional disc per player in the players pack and handled awards for the day. We also had Berean Bible Church come out and provide lunch for all the players AND their families. The Walking Tacos were a big hit!
Next up in the region will be the Mid-Atlantic Junior Regional which we encourage everyone to join us for. You can find more details about the event HERE.
Eagles Wings Disc Golf is proud to announce UnChained. This year we will offer this disc golf conference in two different locations in an attempt to bring together local Christian Disc Golfers and encourage each other to pursue Christ in the disc golf community.
There will be plenty of disc golf games and some sort of one round tournament as part of the conference. Additionally we will bring in speakers to talk on various different topics that will give you ideas on how to make a bigger impact in your disc golf community.
We hope that with the success of these conferences to be able to offer them in more locations in future years. This year we will be hosting the conferences in the following locations:
