Czech Republic Update #6

July 13, 2012

Last day of camp! We had a great day of camp on Friday. It was colder and rained a bit throughout the day but it didn’t seem to affect the kids or the coaches. In the afternoon, many of the parents came to watch their kids scrimmage. It was a great time for the kids to show their parents the skills they have been learning all week. We ended camp by giving out a few awards. We also gave each kid a signed baseball (signed by everyone at camp) and a t-shirt. They seemed very excited to receive both gifts.

After camp, we had dinner at the restaurant at the baseball club. Earlier in the week, we invited the kids and their families to join us. A handful of families stayed to talk and and join us for dinner.

After we said our final good-bye’s to the campers, bittersweet of course, we packed up all of our gear and headed back to our “homes”,  tired and excited for the week we had experienced.

A few of us decided to head back into Old City Prague for one last night, others decided to do some pre-packing, before our Saturday trip to a castle.  Prague,at night, is very beautiful to walk around and enjoy the sights in a different way.  We usually had taken walks during the daylight hours, so this was a little more unique.  It was said earlier, but it is a beautiful city to just walk around and enjoy the scenery.

In Christ,

Jeff, for the Czech Baseball Team
