Italy Update 6

ALORA!

Day 2 of week 2 has come and gone. Things are going well in Imola albeit a bit different. We are staying in a seminary in the old part of the city and stay very close to where we pick up the bus that takes us to camp each morning. Camp is about 30 minutes away up in the mountains. The campers bus with us to and from camp each day. It really is a beautiful ride each day!

It is a change this week from last week. We have 15 kids in the morning from 9:30 – 12 and then we head to the pool. After an hour at the pool we all eat lunch together before another 10 kids join us for the afternoon. We are in a gym in the morning and on two outdoor courts in the afternoon. The kids are working hard and seem to really be enjoying themselves. This afternoon it rained a bit and slowed things down, but we made do and had a great time getting to know one another better.

Tonight we will play our first game in Imola. Looking forward to playing and getting to know some other people here. We are very thankful for the people we have had a chance to meet thus far in Imola. Life is a bit slower here than it is in Mestre. There is also quite a bit of history. The castle in the center of the city was built in the 11th century and other parts of the city date back to the 4th century.

Thanks so much for praying for us. It is much appreciated! Keep praying! Hard to believe we are almost at Wednesday of the second week. The trip is flying by, but our prayer is that as kids grow in their understanding of basketball, they are challenged in their relationship with God. Making it personal is a new concept for many of them.
