Italy update … 7.1.15
Happy July 1 from Imola! Much has transpired since Monday night when we last wrote. Wednesday is always a rough day at camp because it is the middle of the week and kids are dragging. They are feeling the effects of the long hours of bball. They arrive at 8:30 am and we go strong until 5:30 pm. It has been a great time with one of the highlights coming during the 2 hour lunch break when we eat some great meals and then break off into stations to talk about life, basketball, and spiritual things. God is really blessing these times! Throughout the day the coaches are sharing testimonies and we are walking through the parables to help the kids get a greater perspective of God and His plan for us.
Monday night we hung out and had Team Time as a group. Last night (Tuesday) we entered the team in a 3-point shooting contest downtown. We have played in the 3v3 tourney before but that started last week, so we were not able to play in that. But we enjoyed playing a friendly match against some local guys last night before participating in the 3v3 time.
We are having a great time but the long camp day, meals in the evening, Team Time, and other local activities are making for some rather late nights. Down at midnight plus and up by 7 makes for a full day. We are headed to the downtown plaza shortly where we will join many others from Mestre in celebrating arts, crafts, and special items together. Also looking forward to some more gelato downtown before Team Time and some rest. Thursday and Friday, our last two days of camp will fly by. Looking forward to what the Lord does in the hearts of the 34 kids that will join us with excited faces tomorrow morning. Thanks so much for praying!
