Assistant Manager – In The Zone Athletics

Matt was born and raised in Colorado.  I loved all kinds of sports growing up. In high school I was fortunate enough to play Basketball, Track & Field, Golf, and Soccer. I earned varsity letters in most of those sports, but track and field would be the sport that set the course for my life. I was a pole vaulter as student athlete attending Doane College in Crete, NE. My family was diligent about being in church, but it was in college where my faith became my own. 

After college I became a track and field coach spending over 30 years coaching with 25 of those years as a Division 1 Head Coach at Lehigh University. My wife coached with me that entire time. We have been married 30 years this December. We have two super star (adult) kids. Sydney works in graphic design and is a high school track coach and Tyson is a student athlete at Lehigh University and is also a pole vaulter.

After helping out with Push The Rock in home school programs and teaching PE, I joined Push The Rock in November 2023 as assistant manager of In The Zone Athletics, Push The Rock’s new ministry in the Lehigh Valley.  In The Zone is a sports and training community providing athletic training across a number of sports including basketball, volleyball,pickleball, strength & conditioning, and speed & agility.  We are building relationships with athletes and families, and excited to share the hope we have in Jesus to the In The Zone community.
