Stephanie joined our team in the summer of 2018 after graduating from Messiah College. After 15 years of competitive swimming, she finished her career with 2 years on the Messiah Women’s Swim team. The 4 years prior were for the Varsity team at Cherry Hill East. Since she stopped competing she has become Spinning certified and teaches cycling classes every week. Athletics have played a big part in her life and is how she met some of her best friends.

Outside of athletics, she enjoys her time spent with friends and family, reading,  expressing her creative side, and learning. During her sophomore year, she started working as a barista and her love for coffee skyrocketed. Ask her about her coffee blog sometime!

At the age of 7 she came to know Christ as her savior. Since then God has been teaching her, through every season, who He is and what His plan is.

God is teaching me about:
God never promised us comfort or good health, He promises us his love and salvation from our worst sins. We have a purpose to love others and that needs to be done regardless of the situation or circumstance.

Favorite post-workout recovery food or drink is:
Ice water, Fruit/ Protein smoothie, and Peanut Butter RxBArs,

The professional athlete I most want to compete against is:

“Any professional athlete would put me to shame.”

The best lesson I learned about sportsmanship was:

“The team at Messiah showed me a genuine love for the sport and for others who loved it. We prayed after the meets with the other teams, congratulated swimmers after their race, especially if we lost to them. To me, it showed humility and an ability to step outside of yourself, your identity as a swimmer, and the sport to meet people as they were, where they were, good swimmers or not”
