Intern Opportunities for 2019

As an intern or gap year candidate with Push The Rock Zambia, our goal is to provide you with a learning experience that will not only meet any potential educational requirements but also stretch your comfort zone and help grow your faith while challenging your perspectives on life as a follower of Christ in a new culture. Additionally, you will use your skills, training, and experience to build into the lives of the community here.

As our ministry grows here in Zambia, it is our desire to host the following interns in 2019:

Coaching Intern : Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, or Disc Golf

  • A coaching intern should have good experience and knowledge in his or her specific sport and be excited to share that with Macha, Zambia. As an intern, you will be responsible for teaching and coaching both our staff and children while building relationships with those individuals. You will be expected to help lead daily practices, clinics, and even lead coaching seminars for our staff. Through your sport, you will have the opportunity to invest in the lives of others and leave a lasting impact on both the game and many lives here.

Teaching Intern : *NEW THIS YEAR!*

  • We are looking for a trained teacher to create a structured learning program to be run from our after-school Recreation Center and Library. We have laid the foundation and have resources, now we are just looking for someone to come alongside our staff and train them in how to best educate and teach the children who come each afternoon. The focus is to create a program that can be an additional resource for students in local schools-primarily, English, reading, and math.

Internships can happen anytime throughout the year, usually lasting from 3 to 6 months.  If neither of the two current intern positions meet your specific skill set, but you’re still hopeful to be involved with Push The Rock Zambia, email us at and tell us about yourself to start the conversation.

We strive to work with each applicant to provide the best possible fit in order to provide an experience that benefits both you, your university, and this ministry. Our hope is that at the end of your time of service, you will be challenged intellectually and spiritually, while gaining ‘real world’ experience as you weigh options for your future!

Applications for all internships are accepted at any time. Candidates will be screened and interviewed based upon overall fit to the internship opportunities. Candidates are encouraged to complete the application early to expedite the interview and placement process. Please also note that all interns must be in complete agreement with our doctrinal position.
