Costa Rica (Eagles Wings)
February 22 – March 2, 2019
Team size: 10
As you may already know, disc golf is a rapidly growing sport, not just in the US but also around the world. In 2017 a team traveled to San Jose and installed a 9-hole course in a local park in partnership with another local organization. In addition to building the course, the team ran clinics for local schools and held a tournament at the end of the week. For many of those kids, it was the first time they had been introduced to disc golf.
Each member of the team will be involved in the design and construction of the course which will include tee pads, baskets, and signage. While there the team will also spend significant time teaching the sport to the staff and the community at local schools and churches.
We want to enable you to use the gifts, abilities and passions God has given you in disc golf to have an eternal impact on those in Costa Rica. You will be able to model how a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can positively impact and change every aspect of your life! We believe this experience will deepen your faith and open your eyes to what God is doing in this particular part of the world.
Team training will happen prior to the trip on Friday, February 22, starting at 10 am. The team will fly out on February 23 and return from Costa Rica on March 2. (Specific travels plans for you before and after the trip can be worked out once you are a part of the team.)
Team members will be responsible for their travel to and from Michigan where training will take place. All other trip costs will be covered in the price of the trip including your Eagles Wings gear and a day of zip-lining and hot springs!
We encourage you to pray about being a part of this team. You do NOT want to miss out on this opportunity! If you have any additional questions, please contact Dustin Leatherman. Otherwise, the next step is to fill out an application by following the links below.
