Spain Update #10 July 6, 2010

July 6, 2010

Back at the La Victoria gym, we were greeted in the morning by 60+ three to six year old children.  Full of energy and wanting to play with us, they were ready to go.  Working in groups of 6, the PTR coaches worked hard to keep the kids engaged with a variety of games ranging from obstacle courses to self-generated games.  All of the coaches did a great job with the different groups and all enjoyed the day.  Following a fantastic lunch, we had more team time.  Today we talked about being ready to share the Gospel at any given moment.   Knowing that we may be called upon to share the way of salvation, we spent time talking about the key parts of the Message that we share with others who do not know the Lord.  Once Team Time was wrapped up, it was back to La Victoria gym again for the 13-18 year olds.  41 kids appeared for us and they were ready to play.  They moved through the stations and activities with great attitudes and were eager to participate in all things.  Some of the girls who played against PTR in Monday night’s game were at camp today and we enjoyed getting to know them and helping them with their game.  A brief snack of Nutella on fresh rolls gave us enough energy to make it through the boys game.  Playing against a local team, the whole PTR team, along with a missionary from Venezuela (who was with the PTR team in Italy last week) played hard for the whole game.  Working to get a lead, the PTR team kept the lead and finished the game up by 6.  Each of the team members are learning more about each other each game they play and also have opportunities to show good sportsman ship.  Following the game, the whole PTR team, the missionaries, and the church members helping us headed back to the church for supper.  Another delicious meal rounded out our evening.  Bellies full and satisfied, we headed back to where we were staying.

Another great day for Him,
Coach Brendan
