Miami – The Best Is Yet To Come…

Well here we are Friday morning counting down the last two or so hours until departure.  The last couple months have been accompanied by a lot of mental, physical and spiritual preparation, packing and repacking and support raising. Thank you once again to everyone who has given financially and through prayer commitments to make this trip a possibility!

Today we plan to pack five staffers (along with all the equipment for running our camps and afternoon clinics) into a fifteen passenger van and drive down to North Carolina where we will stop for the night, continuing on early saturday morning for our final destination: Miami.  Aah, 22 glorious hours in the van!  Among other things, we will be doing some mission training and orientation as we drive.

Please pray for safety traveling and for a good time of group bonding on the road.  We want to be faithful in preparing ourselves as best we can to serve God effectively.  Yet we also acknowledge that there’s only so much we can do; we need God to prepare us for things we can’t perceive ahead, and of course we depend upon Him to prepare the hearts of the kids we’ll be working with.

The song “Sanctuary” has become apart of my morning routine.  It says “Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary, pure and holy, tried and true.  With thanksgiving I’ll be a living sanctuary for you.”  Pray that each of us on this trip will be a living sanctuary, prepared by God to live and work as witnesses for Him by our words and actions and our very being.

Stay tuned!  A summary of a mega road trip might not titillate your fancy, but rest assured, the best is yet to come.
