Magical Brazil Event
*Check out our video below!*
Waves of Brazilian kids walked onto AECA property with a glimmer in their eyes. They were singing and chatting and very energetic as if they were looking forward to this day for a long time. Their excitement level seemed like they were walking into a Disney theme park, but instead they were heading into a Push The Rock event where they would have fun playing sports while learning about Jesus.
On October 26th and 27th of 2023, Push The Rock Brazil held a three-hour event at AECA (Associacao Esportiva Comunitaria de Atibaia [Sport Association Community of Atibaia]) that engaged 300 different kids each day between the ages of six and 11-years-old in a variety of sports activities. The goals of the event were to make God known to the students, strengthen our partnership with the local school, promote PTR/AECA’s weekly sports program, and connect with volunteers. Nearly 30 volunteers were recruited to serve on both days, including two “clowns” who were responsible for talking about Jesus.
“Two girls came to talk to us, and one of them noticed that the bag I was holding had the Jesus Copy (a local church) logo on it. She mentioned that she had watched a few videos from the church and that she had a Bible with the same logo on it. Her friend, who was alongside, mentioned that she didn’t have a Bible and that she had never read a Bible before. I asked her if she wanted one. She said yes! Since I had one in my car, I got it for her. She was wowed, not believing that I would really give to her. Who believed in clowns anyways? But when I brought the Bible to her, she was extremely happy, and her friend said that they would read the Bible together.” – Kid Vareta, Clown Volunteer
We were blessed at Push The Rock Brazil to create this life-changing experience for the kids by playing sports with them and introducing them to Jesus. Hopefully many of the kids that attended will also start attending our weekly programing in Atibaia.
