Slingshot Esports Goes Global

Partnering with JesusCopy Family Church, Slingshot Esports hosted its first international esports event in Braganza, Brazil on April 2.  With over 167 players registered, families from all over the state of Sao Paula, including 30 of which were first time visitors to the church, came to enjoy the festivities which featured both FIFA® and Rocket League® tournaments.

Slingshot’s Brendan O’Brien kicked off the event with a message to parents that was designed to position them to better understand gaming and their gaming children. The half-day event also included other games to play for fun including Just Dance™, Minecraft™, and Fortnite™.   Food was available throughout the day at the food truck from Holy Burger, a nationally recognized gourmet hamburger restaurant. The event and the days leading up to it has allowed Slingshot to make deeper connections with JesusCopy Church,  and together they will be planning on ways to collaborate for future events.
